Empowering Students Through Music & Strategy
Rutherford-Based Music School (RBMS), part of an international franchise, opened its doors in August 2023 with a mission to bring music education to children and adults of all ages. By June 2024, the school had 67 students and faced the challenge of increasing enrollment during the slow summer months. To address this, the owners partnered with Jones Strategy and Consulting Group, LLC to design and implement a comprehensive growth strategy.
On September 5, 2024, RBMS celebrated a major achievement—a 38.8% increase in student enrollment in just a few months. This success was the result of coordinated efforts that included launching targeted digital campaigns, organizing a summer open house series, creating a Studio Manager position to oversee operations, and hosting a one-year anniversary celebration in collaboration with the local chamber of commerce.
The open house events alone generated $1,800 in revenue through raffles, merchandise, and promotions, while also converting attendees into new students. Digital marketing efforts on Meta and Instagram reached families in surrounding communities and quickly translated into more than 15 new enrollments in a single week. The introduction of the Studio Manager role proved to be a turning point, allowing the owners to focus on networking and business development while ensuring marketing initiatives were executed effectively.
By November 15, 2024, the school had grown from 67 to more than 120 students, solidifying its presence in the community and setting the foundation for continued growth.
