"Staten Island-Based Kitchen” was founded in 2023 to bring high-quality Caribbean and Soul Food catering to festivals and local events across Staten Island and surrounding neighborhoods. With guidance from Jones Strategy and Consulting Group, LLC, the business focused on strengthening its operations, piloting its launch, and building a pathway toward its first brick-and-mortar restaurant.

On December 18, 2024, Staten Island-Based Kitchen completed its pilot opening, marking a milestone in its journey of growth and community connection. This effort resulted in 246 website visitors in its first two months, two successful pilot launches, over 25 orders, and $450 in revenue. In addition, a fundraising strategy was developed to secure $50,500 for the establishment and operations of their future restaurant.

Some of the project’s highlights include the launch of a fully functional website with online ordering, the implementation of a new POS system to improve efficiency, and the development of a clear strategy to transition from catering to a physical location. Through strategic planning and community support, Staten Island-Based Kitchen is now well-positioned to expand its reach and achieve its long-term goals.
